Miami Beach Convention Center Advisory Board recommend Portman CMC team prior to final verdict

The final decision as to which team will win an international competition to redesign Miami Beach Convention Center will be determined in late July by the Miami Beach Mayor and City Commissioners however at a meeting of the Miami Beach Convention Center Advisory Board earlier this week, Portman CMC’s concept was recommended at 4 votes to 3.

In a statement on the Portman CMC blog, Vice Chairman of Portman Holdings Jack Portman said: “We are pleased and honoured to be the recommended choice of the Miami Beach Convention Center Advisory Board. We are confident that this process will lead to the best outcome for the residents and visitors of Miami Beach.”

The two teams going head to head for the project are: Bjarke Ingels Group with West 8, Fentress, JPA and Portman CMC; and OMA with Tishman, UIA, MVVA, Raymond Jungles and TVS. Click here for more details from both teams.
