The View From The Shard officially opens

Today the long-awaited The View From The Shard is to be opened by Mayor of London Boris Johnson. This multi-storey observation platform at the apex of Europe’s second tallest building (after Mercury City in Moscow) will offer panoramic views across London from 9am to 10pm for a ticket price of £24.95.

UK paper The Guardian has launched an interactive online resource which gives information about the buildings one can see from The View From The Shard. Information is also available at the viewing platform as part of a permanent exhibition curated by the tower’s architect Renzo Piano but WAN also recommends the official guidebook of The Shard (Thames & Hudson) which can be purchased here.
