Libeskind in the running for Ohio Holocaust Memorial

At a meeting held on Thursday, 24 January 2013 the Ohio Statehouse Holocaust Memorial Artist Selection Committee chose three finalists for the Ohio Statehouse Holocaust Memorial. The project will be the first Holocaust memorial to be built at any statehouse in the US.

The three finalists, which were selected by a panel of representatives from the arts, government, and the Jewish community from among 80 applicants, are Jaume Plensa, Barcelona/Paris/Richard Gray Gallery Chicago, Illinois, Ann Hamilton, Columbus, OH, and Daniel Libeskind.

Each of shortlisted artists will visit the memorial site, meet with the committee, and have six weeks to submit proposals. The committee expects to select the final project artist in May.
