Frank Gehry tops the tables for 2011 Emporis Skyscraper Award

Every year, a dedicated jury selects the top ten tall towers completed in the previous calendar year for the Emporis Skyscraper Award. Of the 220+ skyscrapers entered for the 2011 round, the crème de la crème have now been hand-picked with Frank Gehry’s 8 Spruce Street (also known as ‘New York by Gehry’ and ‘The Beekman’) taking first place. The jury detailed: “8 Spruce Street stands out even in Manhattan’s already remarkable skyline. It is a major new architectural landmark for New York.”
