Baku office opened by global architects Broadway Malyan

International architecture firm Broadway Malyan has opened a new office in Baku with 30 permanent employees. The practice has set up its latest base in the burgeoning city in parallel with a number of large-scale projects in the region. Broadway Malyan’s 28 May Shopping Mall scheme is Azerbaijan’s biggest shopping centre and has now opened its doors to the public. Comprising a food court, 1,200-seat cinema with retail units, the 23,000 sq m mall also features interior design by Broadway Malyan.

The practice has also celebrated the topping out of the Port Baku Residences scheme, a mixed-use project spread over 375,000 sq m. Gary Whittle, Managing Director of the Baku base explains: “The office opening is the latest chapter in our successful international growth strategy. It will result in a 16-strong global office network, enhance our global reach and ability to partner clients across mature and emerging markets, with projects in 41 countries over the last year.
