Two Australian design studios practicing under the single title BVN Donovan Hill - BVN and Donovan Hill - have been the first to win four architecture awards at the 2012 National Architecture Awards hosted by the Australian Institute of Architects. Prior to this year, the most a single practice has achieved is two awards in a single year, however BVN Donovan Hill has taken home twice this.
Speaking on this substantial success, National Director of BVN Donovan Hill James Grose commented: “All these projects are the result of highly inclusive and collaborative work between client and the architect throughout the design and delivery process.”
The four award wins are as follows:
Residential Architecture, Multiple Housing (Frederick Romberg Award) - Monash Student Housing Complex
Public Building - Narbethong Community Hall
Public Building - Ravenswood Girls School Mabel Fidler Building (shortlisted for 2012 WAN AWARDS Education Sector)
Urban Design - Taronga Zoo
