‘Revolutionary’ social media site for architects allows brands to tag products

On 27 September, a new social network was officially launched which will enable new levels of interaction between architects, product manufacturers and the general public.

Plazatio is an interactive platform which looks to bridge the gap between the public and architects by displaying stunning projects which showcase architectural talents, and to forge stronger links between architects and product manufacturers by allowing brands to publicise how their goods have been used to great effect.

Plazatio has been created by the Colegio Territorial de Arquitectos de Alicante (CTAA) over the past fifteen months, with the name sourced from the connection of two architectural spaces historically associated with social relations: ‘plaza’ and ‘patio’. Vicente Castillo, Head of Culture and Affairs at CTAA explains: “The social network is a strong commitment to open architecture to society, citizens and businesses in a way that has never before been produced.

Moreover, with an approach that integrates technology, economy and culture; something of great importance today. It should be able to emerge that intangible value present in the architectural projects of our country.”
