Major conference and exhibition centre project in Delhi won by Populous

Populous is to advise and plan a long term phasing strategy with 30 year masterplan for the redesign of Pragait Maidan, a large-scale conference and exhibition centre in Delhi, India.

The development will sit in a site of over 124 acres in the centre of the city and will be owned and managed by the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). Once completed, the centre will host the India International Trade Fair which draws over three million visitors every year.

Andrew James, Senior Principal at Populous’ office in Brisbane said: “India’s growing middle class and developing economy has created a highly competitive marketplace, attracting top class business events from around the world, as well as from within India, as every State vies for a unique position on the international stage.”
