A reopening date has been set for the renovation of the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA). The renewed facility in Maryland, US will open its doors on 18 November 2012 after a thorough renovation of the contemporary wing by Ziger/Snead Architects.
The redevelopment has brought the exhibition space up to date with a new black box gallery, a contemporary art series presenting site-specific installations, thematic exhibitions and collaborative projects, and a dedicated gallery for light-sensitive works on paper.
Doreen Bolger, Museum Director explains: “The November reopening of the contemporary wing marks the beginning of an incredibly exciting time at the BMA, as it is the first completed phase of the ongoing renovation to provide a more dynamic and engaging experience for our audiences.
“We look forward to welcoming our visitors into a transformed environment that will create thought-provoking encounters with contemporary art.”
