Ebay Data Center in Utah handed to Winter Street Architects and AHA Consulting Engineers

Winter Street Architects is to design a data centre in Utah with AHA Consulting Engineers for international client Ebay.com. The team beat out strong competitors Advanced Design Consultants, Deerns & Gensler, KlingStubbins and M+W Group to win Project Quicksilver through a public RFP process.

Senior Director of Global Data Center Strategy Architecture & Operations at Ebay.com, Dean Nelson, detailed: “The public RFP design process has been extremely successful in driving creativity and innovation from a gamut of talented companies and individuals in the industry. The big ideas and design stretching requirements have given birth to entirely new ways to approach data center design in alignment with IT workload efficiencies.”

Winter Street Architects has previously worked with Ebay.com on its Project Mercury scheme in Phoenix, Arizona. This Data Center was a highly sustainable concept designed for a building not originally conceptualised for its purpose.
