$2.2bn investment in Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong International Airport will gain sixteen new parking stands by the end of 2014 confirmed CK Ng, Airport Operations Deputy Director of the Airport Authority. An investment of HK$2.2bn will be injected into the airport over the coming years to meet demand for enhanced facilities, with three of the sixteen stands capable of handling new styles of aircraft with longer fuselages.

Construction of the 430,000 sq m site is set to commence in mid-2012 and be split into two phases: phase one will insert nine aircraft parking stands and supporting facilities with connections between the western airfield tunnel to the cargo area by the end of 2013; phase two will add the remaining seven stands the following year.
