The Doha campuses of two American Universities are to get new facilities designed by internationally acclaimed architects. Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service- Qatar is to get a 400,000 sq ft building designed by Legoretta and Legoretta. It will house classrooms, offices, a library and other facilities for more than 200 undergraduate and graduate students.
Northwestern University’s Qatar campus will get a new 250,000 sq ft School of Journalism designed by Antoine Predock. Construction of it is to begin in spring 2009. When it completes in 2012 each of the six American schools in Education City will have its own building. The Qatar Foundation will provide funding for the construction of all American schools in Qatar.
