Vanport Square certified LEED Gold by U.S. GBC

The first phase of the Ankrom Moisan's Vanport Square development in Northeast Portland has been designated as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Developed by Vanport Partners LLC, the 42,000-sq-ft commercial condominium space opened in January 2008. It includes 16 flexible retail and commercial spaces targeted at local, small businesses.

During construction, 97 percent of construction, demolition and land clearing debris was diverted from landfills and 76.8 percent of the existing building structure and shell was reused for the project. An integrated storm-water management system gives the building an 80 percent mitigation rate, and landscaping and irrigation systems reduce the building’s water usage by 79.6 percent.
