Green light for St Andrew Square

This £50m mixed use development for ING Real Estate Investment Management (UK), designed by Gareth Hoskins Architects and CDA, won full planning approval on the 28th March 07. The project, located on the south side of St Andrew Square just off Princes Street, within Edinburgh’s New Town and World Heritage Site, will involve the demolition of existing buildings and others reworked to create a new complex, which will include retail units, offices and high value apartments. The double height retail units on the ground floor will have larger retail floorplates, which are in high demand in Edinburgh city centre. The design has been developed following careful and detailed consultations with all major stakeholders, including Historic Scotland, The Cockburn Association, Edinburgh World Heritage, and Architecture & Design Scotland.
