Hamiltons Architects transforms the Isle of Dogs with new mixed-use scheme

The area has been called the Millennium Quarter and Indescon Court is a two acre site considered by Tower Hamlets to be crucially important to its success and called the “heart of the millennium quarter”. Eight storey buildings wrap around two sides of the public space and are clad in randomly bonded terracotta tiles. Rounded corners express the ‘erosion’ of this form as it mediates between the flow of routes and spaces, again in patinated copper. The development consists of 361 residential units sitting on 1,200m2 of retail and commercial units and the public garden.
