It was reported in the London Times today that the UK’s Sellar Property Group, headed by flamboyant Irvine Sellar, is to spend nearly €500m on acquisitions which will effectively double the group’s portfolio. The acquisition programme started with a €77m purchase from Africa Israel which includes Seal House in Swan Lane, London currently let to Merrill Lynch, a Cable and Wireless building in Bletchley and an office complex in Buckinghamshire. The group is keen to increase rental revenue to fund large scale developments including London’s tallest building, known as the Shard of Glass, designed by Renzo Piano.
