Future Systems design for the Prague library

This is the place for the third millennium, democratic architecture in a democratic state. The words that spring to mind would be beauty, elegance, colour plasticity, people and books! The views as part of urban compositioin, colour as reference to the past, present and future, the "street" as a link between the outside and inside. The books from storage will reach the reader in less than 5 minutes and then they are placed back to their original position in storage. There is storage for 10 million volumes with 4 million extended capacity. There is maximum flexibility in the internal building layout and the comfort of soft furniture throughout the building. The unique internal planning reduces floor area by 30%.
