TVA Architects Inc. has been commissioned design Park Avenue West in Portland Oregon
TVA Architects Inc. has been commissioned by local developer Tom Moyer and TMT Development Company to design Park Avenue West, a 31-storey mixed-use office development at Park Block Four in the core of Portland's downtown business district. The proposed $150 million dollar tower will be one of Oregon's tallest buildings, soaring approximately 432 feet in height. It will include 414,000 sq ft above grade, comprising 215,000 sq ft of Class A office space, three floors of retail, approximately 86 condo units and 328 underground parking spaces. The elegant high-rise will be located adjacent to its landmark sister building, the TVA-designed Fox Tower. Construction is scheduled to commence at the end of 2007.
The project is led by TVA Architects design principal Robert L. Thompson, FAIA. In addition to Park Avenue West and the Fox Tower, TVA has collaborated with Moyer on the design of the Marilyn Moyer Meditation Chapel at Portland's Our Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, and is currently working on Park Block 5, an ambitious undertaking spearheaded by TMT Development to replace the surface parking lot adjacent to the Fox Tower with a six-level subterranean parking structure topped with a new public park.
