Behnisch Architekten win competition for new Unilever Headquarters in Hamburg
The client Unilever plans a new headquarter building in Hamburg's new HafenCity, one of the most interesting urban developments in Germany. The site is located right next to the river Elbe, not far from the new Elbphilharmonie and a new science center. The proposed building corresponds to the surrounding streetscape and affords beautiful views of the river, even from offices which are not located directly on the waterfront. Together with Transsolar Klimaengineering an energy concept was developed which ensures optimum use of the available resources. The project is on a very tight schedule since the client wants to move in at the end of 2008.
