The Japanese firm SANAA, makes their American debut in Ohio with a stunning Glass Pavilion that serves as an Annex to the Toledo Museum of Art. The 76,000 square foot, single storey pavilion, which is organized around a series of courtyards open to the sky, houses the nation’s third largest collection of glass art.
In addition to an extensive glass art collection, the building houses temporary exhibition galleries and glass making facilities. The design plays off the rawness of the glass making process and the refinement of the building.
The project cost is $ 30 million US.
