Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego prepares for January 2007 opening
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MSCASD) will unite San Diego's rich architectural past with contemporary art and design in January 2007 when it opens the doors to a newly expanded cultural campus. Located at a historic and international crossroads in downtown San Diego, the Richard Gluckman renovation of the 1915 Sante Fe Depot baggage building and new three-storey structure will face the Museum's existing galleries at 1001 Kettner Blvd, designed by artists Robert Irwin and Richard Fleischner in collaboration with San Diego- based architect David Singer.
The expansion will add 30,000 sq feet of museum space, in addition to new outdoor exhibition lcoations, and an artist-in-residence studio.
