A new contextually relevant home on a corner lot replaces the owner's original home, allowing them to carry out their passion for gardening. The L-shaped plan is organized by two intersecting cedar canopies passing from exterior to interior. A double height kitchen/dining area filled with natural light accesses the garden directly. A monumental double sided stone fireplace guards access to a more intimate library/quiet area also in full view of the garden. A main level master bedroom "walks out" to the garden and two "tree house" like studios on the second level are divided by a catwalk. The house reinterprets the neighbourhood's original usage of exterior stone, wood siding, aluminum windows and stucco with corresponding expressions throughout the interior.
