To house a multi-generational family of eleven within a relatively small footprint, we created open and permeable living spaces with direct relationships to the surrounding nature, while designing for privacy.
The curvilinear plane of timber fins, glass and titanium-zinc which envelopes the upper floors expand and unites the layered functional spaces, creating a sense of spaciousness in an otherwise compact internal layout. This layered enclosure also simultaneously screens the house from a heavy traffic without compromising the view out from the upper level.
