New house for Architects Don and Tracey Brink in Knysna, South Africa

This house is a response to the site, orientation and owners needs. It has been designed to house a family of four. It incorporates a solar heated water floor heating system which is connected to the solar heated water geysers for normal household use. All the timber used in the house (for the rafters, windows, doors, flooring, skirtings and architraves) was from an alien species of the Saligna family sourced from the forests around Knysna.
