Olympic effort pays off for Hadid

London based Zaha Hadid, once known as the UK’s greatest woman architect with no built projects on her home territory is now on a roll. Having broken the spell with the Architecture Foundation’s new London headquarters, she is now designing an iconic building to house the London 2012 Olympic watersports. Hadid, “The architectural concept of the Aquatic Centre is inspired by the fluid geometry of water in motion, creating spaces and a surrounding environment in sympathy with the river landscape.” The building will retained as a swimming complex after the Olympics.
