Steven Holl architect’s Helsinki “Meander” makes modern living user centered.

The 8 300 sqm development will feature intelligent glass, a low E, multiple glazed internally shaded glass which is employed to maximize and control light and sun. Rather than conventional corridors/doors pivoting walls or “hinged spaces” maximize user control over space and allows for complete open loft-like space or closed rooms; Meander has apartment sizes ranging from 62 m2 to 222 m2 and the number of units of different sizes can be easily adjusted. Room order can be re-organized easily since load bearing walls are located only between apartments. Storage spaces will be solved with non fixed closets chosen and located by the residents. Each apartment is set to have a sauna as well as one on the roof there, which also has a jogging track along it.
