GC Bankside submit a planning application for the Holland Street site

GC Bankside have recently submitted a detailed planning application for a residential scheme at the Holland Street site, which borders the Tate Modern, London. Designed by Richard Rogers Partnership, the landmark scheme comprises 229 apartments in 5 buildings, providing a total of 300,000 sq ft. of accommodation. The scheme ranges in height from 5 to 24 storeys and includes duplex level penthouses. 30% of the homes provided will be affordable. The scheme has also been designed to use renewable energy sources to help sustain the development. This application comes soon after GC Bankside agreed to buy the Hopton St. Tower site from Meyer Bergman. If the new Holland St. scheme is given the go-ahead then the Hopton St. Tower will not be built and the site will become publicly accessible open space.
