NagaConcepts and Disc-O Architecture win Tsunami Memorial Competition.

Selected from 379 entries from 43 countries, NagaConcepts, in collaboration with Spanish architectural firm Disc-O architecture have won the competition to design the Royal Thai Government’s Tsunami Memorial in Khao Lak – Lamru National Park, in Thailand. The competition was held to create a place to marvel at the spirit and dedication of people, who have fought for their lives, and the lives of others, during and in the aftermath of the Tsunami. The memorial allows visitors to commemorate and also educate them about the cause and effect of a Tsunami, It includes areas of contemplation, a museum, library, a learning centre, amphitheatre, lecture halls and conference rooms and restaurants. Due to the location being in the national park, sensitivity to nature was a key requirement.
