Winning Team commissioned to continue Design study
Tower 151 Architects have been commissioned as part of the pan-European Design team to continue design work for this unique project. The team includes Ove Arup and Partners, Lund University ( Sweden), Tyrens AB, Emmer and Pffenninger (Switzerland). The Design study is part of the ELT programme to bring forward within the European Southern Observatory Management (ESO) the Largest Telescope in the world. The enclosure with a height of 200 meters may be sited at an altitude of 2500 metres. The BAT (Bladed Advanced Telescope) design centres on a system of blades which open and close the main aperture.
