Winner Concept Design for 2004
Toronto’s 2004 Interior Design Show invited design firms to create 600 sq. ft. concept space themed by the question “What Makes You Wealthy”.
Core’s winning design demonstrated the idea that wealth can be found in 4 of life’s essential activities:
– EAT
– SLEEP
– BATHE
– PLAY
The four activities are divided into two halves to form a symbiotic relationship between the introverted (bathing, sleeping) and the extroverted (eating, playing). Pavilions were organized by sequence of use. In this design context, the four cornerstones of living were revealed through the balance of function and sensuality. Pavilions juxtaposed one another in exploring reflective, self-rejuvenation, while paying tribute to our desire for social interplay.
