Cesar Pelli completes masterplan for PDC

Cesar Pelli's design for the new Pacific Design Center (PDC) building in West Hollywood is soon to be realised. This new building with its dramatic coloured facade has predictably been dubbed "Red Building", and will be the final piece of the jigsaw for the PDC master plan. The first building on the site, "Blue Whale" in 1975 was followed by "Green Building" in 1988. Red contains two office complex towers of 6 and 8 stories high, and 7 layers of parking atop. These two towers both feature the palm court configured for the maximum energy efficiency and sky lobbies overlooking the court. Construction is expected to start later this year.
