Lewis & Hickey submit plans which draw on the movement of the sea and wind
Lewis & Hickey Architects vision for the £100 million mixed-use redevelopment of the British south coast town of Bognor Regis has been revealed this week, which includes a new theatre, cinemas, shops, 20 & 12 storey residential 'gateway' towers, affordable housing, health centre and offices. Lewis & Hickey working with low carbon design consultants XCO2, are looking to utilise the sea breezes for power generation, and have integrated into the design an architectural wind turbine with LED lights on the wing tips that light up to form holograms at night. The turbines form a part of environmental proposals that aim to establish Bognor Regis as a beacon for sustainable development on the south coast.
The design concept, for bloc Kilmartin developers will be the biggest construction project in Bognor's history
