Tokyo's Waterfront City - first completed project

A floating restaurant "Waterline" has opened on a Tokyo canal marking the first project to be realised since the city's deregulation of water use. Based on a new redevelopment plan called "Tokyo Waterfront City" which the Tokyo metropolitan government initiated last year. This restaurant is a combination of a building and a "ship" according to the shipping security law. It moves up and down to the change of the water level. Unlike normal ships, it was designed to be barrier-free and can accept wheelchairs. The design is by an interior designer Kanji Ueki.
