Old Orchard is a sustainable, ecological, self-build property designed by Surrey-based exedra architects.

The original building, the Dower House, was demolished in the 1950’s to enable the development of council flats; these were never built and the location remained undeveloped as a brown field site until now. The new five bedroom property has been constructed to be energy efficient and has 450mm solid thermal mass walls, a super-insulated timber frame and full height glazing to maximise solar gain. exedra have over 10 years experience in designing ecological and environmental properties. They have also undertaken a speculative design of an eco-village for a zero energy development on a brown field site beside the River Thames.
