Outline planning application submitted for mixed-use scheme
The £100 million (approx) project for Cheltenham based developers Satnam Investments Limited is predominantly residential with 500 units. These are comprised 20% 1 bed, 70% 2 beds and 10% 3 beds.
The Irk Valley is one of the key focal points for the City Council’s regeneration efforts and this site forms the strategic ‘apogee’ for this regeneration process.
The development is split into 3 ‘fingers’ that rise in height from the banks of the River Irk at the south eastern boundary towards a high point of 60m at the most northerly end of the site which accommodates the Planning Authorities requirement to accentuate the contours of the valley and reflect them in the proposed massing. The project also integrates management and community uses, as well as landscaped gardens and roof terraces overlooking the City.
A decision is due in early June.
