A colourful apartment has recently appeared in a prominent location in Mitaka, Tokyo. This creative work by architects Shusaku Arakawa + Madeline Gins is structured by many spheres, cylinders and cubes stacked up like bricks. The interior is designed so that people can experience body-activating slopes and bumps, a contrary condition to the world trend of structure. Residents will even be given instruction for use. Shusaku Arakawa + Madeline Gins’ creation is based on a theory called "Reversible Destiny" which aims to change the mortal destiny of human beings through interaction with our surroundings. This innovative idea raises a question to the attitude of pursuing comfort blindly.
