Freshwater Place establishes a new urban neighbourhood for Melbourne, combining residential, office, and urban facilities.
Freshwater Place is a mixed use urban development located on the south bank of the Yarra River, Melbourne, sited between the Crown Entertainment Complex and Southbank. The project includes a commercial office tower, a residential apartment tower, and a vibrant public space. The project creates important linkages along the riverfront and completes the redevelopment of the South side of the Yarra. The podium of the 60 storey residential tower forms the principal façade of Melbourne’s new Queensbridge Square. The 38 storey commercial tower has been designed as a sculptural crystalline form clad largely in glass with as much transparency as possible. Completed in February 06, Bates Smart was appointed by Australand for the high profile development after winning an invited design competition.
