Baltimore based DDG completes vast mall in Portugal
Standing adjacent to a major Lisbon highway, the newly opened Loureshopping building encloses the hypermarket, a six-screen cinema, bowling alley and a wide array of retail and dining options with an extensive glass facade which also opens up the building to motorists and pedestrians travelling, giving them a direct view into the energy and retail activity inside. At the south end of the building a large, distinctive glass cone surrounds escalators. The outdoor features and glass ceiling reinforce a running natural theme of the sun, moon and stars running through the Loureshopping design. This concept of astrology is reinforced by the flowing curves and organic lines of the structure itself.
