Belgium’s iron molecule restoration complete.
Belgium's fantastic Atomium building has reopened after a year long renovation. The unique building, designed by André Waterkeyn for the 1958 expo, was long overdue a restoration. The iron molecule has not only had an aesthetic make over, with the redesign of the pavilion giving greater views of the building, there have also been structural improvemments. The structure was originally constructed to last for six weeks. The newly opened Atomium will give visitors a brand new ‘special journey’ through its unforgettable spheres. The Atomium reopened on February 18th, 2006.
