HUD's Rebuild by Design competition is one of several high-profile competitions seeking aspirations solutions to storm protection along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.

The shortlisted teams will next proceed to Stage II of the four-stage competition, an intense two-month collaborative research process led by New York University's Institute for Public Knowledge.  Winning designs will be announced early 2014.
