Major plans to refurbish Bart’s and the London Royal hospitals have moved a step nearer today. The £1.1million project, designed by HOK involves the upgrading of two of London’s most significant hospital locations and has been four years in the planning. The proposals had been in disarray while a review commissioned by UK Health Secretary, Patricia Hewitt was carried out. It is understood that the report, now delivered to the UK’s strategic Health Authority and department of Health by the review team is mainly positive. The delays have been reported to have cost £600,000 per day. An announcement is due shortly.
