This unusual brief required an industrial building to combine as an acoustic barrier for the busy A2 highway. The dominant design principle in the 1.5 km long building is the use of long continuous lines forming smoothly stretched shells on both sides of the barrier. A design speed of 120 km/h was used for the acoustic calculations. The highway side is built up with triangulated system of unique glass element, the other front side is clad with an open metal mesh. The long elastic lines along the length of the barrier have no explicit beginning or end. In the section the shapes change from angular to smoothly curved, from convex to concave curves. The building, experienced as a streamlined cockpit, functions as a 3d logo for other industrial facilities hidden behind the acoustic barrier.
