Swanke Hayden Connell Architects (SHCA) announce Maurice Van Eijs promotion
SHCA have promoted from Architectural Associate, Maurice Van Eijs to Director of Architectural Design for the firm's UK operations. In his new role Maurice will be responsible for the design direction of all architectural projects emanating from the London office. He will be working in close collaboration with Steve Brown, Principal of Architectural Design for SHCA.
David Hughes, CEO of SHCA, speaking on Van Eijs’ appointment said: “This is a great opportunity for Maurice and the firm. His wealth of experience, which includes working in the UK and the USA, as well as teaching positions at prestigious academic institutions such as Cambridge and Princeton, will stand him in good stead for his new role.”
Commenting on his appointment, Van Eijs said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Director of Architectural Design as this new role will allow me to combine my design management skills along with my passion for architecture and delivering projects of the highest calibre.”
At SHCA, Maurice has worked on numerous projects. He was responsible for the design and technical delivery of the external cladding package for the Central Nottinghamshire Hospital in Mansfield and has been directing the design for the Coventry Academy as well as the City of London Academy in Islington. He is also working in close collaboration with SHCA’s regional offices on a wide variety of projects.
Maurice graduated from the Technical University Eindhoven in the Netherlands in 1991 and gained a Masters degree from Princeton University in 1996.
