The Lower East Side today has an extraordinary mix of cultures and activities. We wanted a dialogue with the neighborhood’s cultural mosaic through the building’s pixilated glass envelope. We also tested a number of geometries until we optimized the building’s sculptural presence against the emerging skyline of Lower Manhattan. The tower will include 32 residential units in 50,000 sq ft + 10,000 sq ft of new commercial space.
