Will it be city pride for London as planning re-submitted for Squire and Partners tower?

A second planning application has been submitted for Chalegrove Properties’ Squire and Partners-designed City Pride building in London.

City Pride is a 75 storey tower rising to a height of 239m, (which is lower than 1 Canada Square), comprising 864 residential units and 84 serviced apartments. It is located near the financial centre of Canary Wharf, on the site of the former City Pride public house, Marsh Wall E14.

Consent had previously been granted in 2009 for a residential tower, including a hotel at its base. Improvements have been made to the design of the tower to simplify its form and create an elegant addition to the Canary Wharf skyline.

The hotel element has been removed, the footprint of the building reduced, thus creating an exciting public amenity space alongside the tower. This single storey amenity pavilion with a publically accessible roof garden and outdoor play space also incorporates an indoor play space and a café.

The tower incorporates private winter gardens for each apartment, and 3 floors of shared amenity space at the 27th, 56th and roof terrace levels.
