AEC experts praised by Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II on 2013 Honours List

As is customary for the first day of every year, Tuesday 1 January 2013 saw the unveiling of the New Years Honours List in the United Kingdom. At the beginning of each year, Queen Elizabeth II reveals a list of those she has deemed worthy of the titles of Knight, Dame, and Commander, Member or Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

In the 2013 list there are a number of professionals from the architecture, engineering and construction industries including CEO of Buro Happold Paul Westbury (pictured in News Review) and BIM specialist Mervyn Richards. A selection of industry names on the 2013 Honours List includes:

Paul Stephen Westbury (CBE), Chief Executive Officer, Buro Happold. For services to Engineering and Construction
Dr William Trotman (OBE), Bordass Building Scientist. For services to the Architectural and Engineering Professions and Sustainable Development
Rodney Melville (OBE), Lately Secretary, the Chequers Trust. For services to Architecture
Iain Tuckett (MBE), Group Director, Coin Street Community Builders. For services to Architecture and Regeneration
Wendy Suzanne Blundell (OBE), Head, Devolved Regions, Institution of Civil Engineers. For services to the Construction Industry in Northern Ireland
Jeremy Buckle (BEM), Event Director, UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair. For services to Science and Engineering
David William Baker (OBE), Chief Executive, Robust Details Ltd. For services to the Construction Industry
David Bucknall (OBE), Chair of the Board, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Global Construction and Quantity Surveying. For services to the Construction Industry
Mervyn Richards (OBE). For services to Building Information Modelling and to the Construction Industry
