The interior floor levels in this residence are adjusted in response to the elevation of the fields and Japanese garden adjoining it. A shed roof sets the angle of a sloped ceiling in the simple interior space, which is divided by two angled walls. These two simple design devices create an interior environment that is richly varied both horizontally and vertically, as well as closely integrated with the environment surrounding it.
