Architects 61 creates a hub of fusion of arts and 'digital lifestyle'
Situated in an area where convergence of arts and technology is in Singapore, Rochor MRT aims to retain the context and imagery of its environment. Contextual architecture is adhered to in the design process with the fusion of impressions of its surrounding buildings – Information Technology of Sim Lim, the creativity of La Salle Art School and the vibrancy of Tekka Mall.
Inspired by the fluid digital patterns of a circuit board, the station showcases fluidity and dynamics. The façade expresses movement through folding planes that celebrates the ease of streamline movement. The ceiling adapts digital lines creating a unique lighting scheme for the interiors as it suggests intuitive approach to wayfinding.
Generous spaces integrate the platform and concourse, giving a sense of security and comfort by allowing visual connections between the two levels. Uniting all these elements, the dynamic design of Rochor MRT Station creates a remarkable impression on the streets of Singapore.
