World Architecture Day gets down to business

With just over a month to go, there’s been a recent flurry of commercial activity here at WAD HQ. Some of the world’s most prominent developers, financiers and overseas investors are set to descend upon Cannon Place for the biggest business forum in the architectural calendar.

The day is really shaping up to be an unprecedented opportunity for architects to connect with business partners, acquire essential market insight, keep abreast of the latest trends and assess profitable ventures.

We’ve already got Hines and King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership on board as partners and sponsors, respectively and many other developers, clients and influencers have confirmed their participation including, Land Securities, Zog Group, Peter Rees, Tishman Speyer, Redab Properties Plc, Bupa and many more….

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), which works with UK-based businesses to promote and facilitate access to international markets will be in attendance. One of the organisation’s functions is the exporting of British talent and services to businesses and their embassy network around the world. On the day, there will be significant commercial opportunities since International Trade Advisors and representatives will be in attendance, giving architects unprecedented access to potential business partners and large overseas contracts for their practice.

And don’t forget your tablet for iPad City - an electronic resource designed for architects to exhibit their portfolio and pitch projects face-to-face with developers and potential clients. We think it’s the digital incarnation of the elevator pitch. Remember those? But this time, you’ve got digital assets at your fingertips. Our plan is to combine all the individual projects displayed on each device and create the world’s first ever virtual city.

Remember, World Architecture Day won’t be in London next year, so this is your one-off chance to meet developers in person, consolidate key contacts and gain unparalleled access to a wealth of development projects. Nowhere else will you find the industry’s key decision-makers and market shapers all under the same roof. It’s an opportunity you can’t afford to miss...

Register for World Architecture Day here.

P.S. To keep you in the loop, we’ll be updating you regularly on the latest developers and embassy reps attending World Architecture Day, so watch out for tweets and blogs.
