Dan Meis, Global Director of Sport to lead new global initiative 'Woods Bagot Sport'

Woods Bagot have announced that Dan Meis, the Global Director of Sport, will lead the firm’s new global sector, ‘Woods Bagot Sport’. Woods Bagot Sport will team up with Meis to complete his current projects, which include the new NFL Stadium at Grand Crossing, Los Angeles and a 50,000-seat, multi-use venue for University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Woods Bagot has stated: “Energy and excitement are integral to the world of sport, flowing from the dedicated and competitive people involved. Such a dynamic environment demands equally dynamic planning and design solutions and highly tailored management responses.”

It is no surprise then, that Meis will front the efforts to transform sporting facilities and centres, with a list of successful past projects including the Staples Centre Los Angeles, Safeco Field Seattle, Paul Brown Stadium Cincinnati, Lincoln Financial Field Philadelphia, Saitama Super Arena Japan, and the facilities at the United States Tennis Association’s National Tennis Centre. Meis’ work has been recognised for enhancing the success of businesses through his designs, benefiting the sports sector greatly.

Meis is also currently leading the conceptual design for a new stadium for soccer club AS Roma, Rome and Sports City Stadium, Doha for the 2022 FIFA World Cup (in association with Aedas). As Global Director of Sport, Dan will front this expansion of the Los Angeles-based team, to include design and technical experts in New York, London and Sydney. He has made the Sports Business Journal ’40 under 40’ list twice, making his mark amid the group of top industry executives, and in 2001, Time magazine named him among its ‘100 Innovators in the world of sports’.
